Tutorial - Embroidered hanging loops

I have thought about this for a good while and come up with the following method of making small but sturdy (and pretty) little loops to hang up my quilts with.  Strong enough to take the weight but discreet enough to remain elegantly hidden should you decide to pull them off the wall and snuggle up in them instead.

i came across this tutorial for hanging a small quilt using embroidery floss. This would be great for my Sailor Mouth Swap piece on flickr. Aneela is a genious!!

Whilst doing a little brainstorming for this pattern, I decided to put together a few mosaics for some inspiration. I'm feeling bright saturated colors, bold prints, something that gives off a really "gypsy or bazaar" style. I love this style for summertime. I'm seeing it everywhere. Hope you like my collections from these great flickr users.

Bit of sewing for my shop and news about the flickr group

This is my latest, a fold over clutch from a Keyka Lou pattern  and a tiny change purse made with natural linen and cotton polka dot prints. This is my first run through with this pattern and I think it came out pretty well. I used a "sew in" interfacing instead of my usual fusible stuff. The sew in may be my new fav as I can press the clutch more without worry of making the interfacing bend and crinkle up.
I think I will add the little purse as a free gift to whomever purchases this clutch. It is available in my shop. Please stop by and have a look.

 
My great news! This photo is on Ali Foster's Blog. I recently started a flickr group for all of her great patterns she designs for purchase at her Etsy shop. She offers some very nice  (reasonably priced) bag and clutch patterns. You can view the flickr group  here. Creekbedthreads did a wonderful job on the pleated tote and made to the front page of etsy. I really adore her use of the Nicey Jane fabric from Heather Bailey.

A quick post of what I made today

I just posted this wristlet in my shop.

It started out as some fabric piecing. I have been playing around with some different fabric combinations lately. I am trying to go for a more zakka style but I am still loving the nautical style of colors and it definitely shows in my projects.

  Here is our little guy coming home from his first day of school. He is so tiny that this backpack looks huge on him and is almost toppling him over, but he wanted to carry it like the big kids. He is becoming so independant and I feel like I am losing my "baby."  He qualified for an early pre-school program due to his delay in speech and language. It's a great program here and there is another "peanut" in his class with him. The teachers are wonderful and hope to have him catching up with his peers by next year.  He will get to ride a bus and goes to the same elementary school as big sister. I love it. So does Clay, although the first goodbye was really hard and he was clinging to dad and crying, much harder than big sister's first day. She was off without any fear. Such a brave little girl she was.
